Can You Believe We’re Halfway Through the ‘Ber Months?
It’s hard to wrap my head around it—September and October flew by, and here we are, entering the home stretch of 2024. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably ready for all things cozy, nostalgic, and festive. Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday, and the kickoff to the holiday season are just around the corner, and I couldn’t be more excited!
But there’s something else that’s making waves, especially in the real estate world: the election. Yep, it’s almost here, and believe it or not, that could be good news for home sales. 🏡
Why Elections Affect the Housing Market
In the months leading up to an election, the real estate market often sees a bit of a lull. Buyers and sellers may hit pause, wanting to see how things shake out before diving into a big financial decision. After all, with policies and potential changes on the horizon, who doesn’t want a bit of extra clarity?
But here’s the exciting part: historically, home sales actually rebound after an election. In fact, an article from Keeping Current Matters points out that sales have increased in 82% of post-election years! And all signs suggest 2025 will follow this trend. Once the “wait and see” phase is over, people feel more confident jumping back into the market.
What This Means if You’re Thinking of Buying or Selling
If you’ve been on the fence about making a move, you’re not alone! Many buyers and sellers press pause before an election, only to resume their plans once the dust settles. So if you’re planning to buy or sell, keeping an eye on market trends could work to your advantage.
In the meantime, I’ll be right here to help you navigate these shifts! Whether you’re following me on Instagram or catching my bi-weekly updates, you can count on me to keep you informed of any big changes.
